What happened last week

It’s my last week in Spain. I have hoped that the weather will be much better when I return to Poland. Sadly it seems that I will moving from 24 to 10 degrees Celsius. In the meantime, I’m trying to catch as much sun as possible and do some typical summer activities - like drinking cold brew or eating ice cream.

I’m also proud of myself because, together with the fantastic team at Kinsta, we managed to launch our new splash-screen project for our Application Hosting starters:

I'm pleased with the new splash screens we're adding to our starter projects for @kinsta Application Hosting. Soon there will be even more starters. Here is the complete list: github.com/search?q=topic…

If, for some reason, you still didn’t try Astro, Elian is explaining the basics of Astro together with comparing it to Nuxt. That’s it - go, try it, and write some code.

Finale: Coolest Tech, Memorable Guest Quotes, and Funny Moments with Cassidy & Zach

It’s always sad to see nice things end, even if it’s just the end of the season. Cassidy and Zach interviewed a lot of amazing people, and I think this was the first ever YT show that I watched regularly 🤠

Wallaby.js

What a fantastic tool it is. It lets you run JS unit tests in real-time. This lets you see their results each time you change your code. Amazing, right?

From gaming with your eyes to coding with AI: New frontiers for accessibility — Mike Melanson

This truly amazing article shows why Open Source is so important - it lets people with disabilities adapt it more to their needs. It also shows how new technologies can make their lives better.

Do Not Negotiate Quality — Serdar Kalaycı

A great article regarding quality vs. speed: we all have been in this position when our boss pushed us to implement something we knew will blow up sooner than later. Worth reading and giving this a longer thought.

Learn how to rescue legacy software — Richard Spindler

I enjoyed chatting with Richard about legacy software last week. We touched on many interesting topics regarding rescuing such software. We even involved Gordon Ramsay in this.

And how was your week? Did you learn something interesting? Don’t hesitate to press the reply button or share your thoughts in the comment section.
