What happened last week - issue #42
This week: WordCamp Europe, Astro, static site generator and more
What happened last week
It’s WordCamp Europe 🔥 Together with my family, we just arrived in Athens, and… it’s pure horror to travel around the city with a stroller. High curbs, narrow pavements, and cars blocking everything. But this won’t stop us.
On the other hand, I have a lot of work this year related to WordCamp itself. But WCEU is the event I’ve been waiting for the whole year.
Apart from this, I did my first 100 km this season on my bike. It was quite a ride with the amount of sand and grass we had to cross. But it was amazing.
Interesting links
I Tried Andrew Huberman's Morning Routine — Goal Guys
While this is something that is not connected with development itself, the whole video was really interesting. I don’t believe in those “magical” routines that will change your life, but I can believe that using even some parts of this every day can make some impact.
Make your docs shine with Starlight
Astro just released a cool documentation-related theme. I think it looks amazing.
21 Awesome Web Features you’re not using yet — Fireship
Another amazing Fireship video. It shows some new stuff we can use in our browsers. For example, I really like the dialog element, but the rest shown in the video is also amazing.
Minimal Framework for Static Websites — Jeffrey Schwartz
Another week means that there the new JS framework was released. I don’t think that fusion.ssg will become one of the major Static Site Generators, but I really like it - it’s easy to use, and it’s more than perfect for simple sites.
Hacking my “smart” toothbrush — Cyrill Künzi
Some time ago, I was listening to how to hack Tesla cars. Now it’s time to read how to hack a Philips smart toothbrush. A very interesting article if you would like to change your toothbrush head once every 5 months without seeing the LED blinking.
Remix: Fueling Developers with Gummiberry Juice-Like Power — Hana Klingová
An interesting counterpoint to Artem’s article. I really have to give Remix, especially since some of Hana’s arguments seem to favor Remix. For example, “working with forms”.
Updating a Bard addon for Tiptap 2 for Statamic 4 — Marty Friedel
Marty shared what he learned when he updated his plugin to make it Statamic v4 compatible.
And how was your week? Did you learn something interesting? Don’t hesitate to press the reply button or share your thoughts in the comment section.
