What happened last week
Three days left to my two-week time off. I’m quite excited about it, and I’m already planning some bike trips. Visiting Warsaw on my bike seems a good idea - it’s only 150 km away.
Last week I had a chance to work more with Docker to set up environments for some benchmark tests. I won’t lie - it wasn’t fun at all, and I hit some problems all the time - luckily, I remembered DDEV, which solved all the problems.
I also had quite some fun cycling to Łęczyca. It’s harvest season, so the views are amazing.

NativePHP — Marcel Pociot
During LaraconUS, Marcel announced the alpha version of NativePHP, a way to build native applications using PHP. And while it is very interesting, I’m still unsure if going the WASM way (like WordPress Playground did) wouldn’t be better.
Still, I am very excited to see how it will grow and how others will contribute to it.
Introducing Postbot, Postman’s new AI assistant — Abhijit Kane
I missed the fact that Postman released an AI assistant some time ago, but I had a chance to play with it, and it’s quite amazing. It can help you cover your API with tests in a matter of minutes (and those tests are quite OK).
POP — Charm
This is one of those small things that you fall in love with. Pop is a CLI script that lets you send emails right from your command line. It also has a really sexy user experience.
Dan Abramov announced last week that he’s leaving Meta. It’s quite a surprise, especially since Dan is one of those iconic React people. On the other hand, he isn’t leaving the React team.
Meet Darko, who built and deployed cloud infrastructure with a Commodore 64 — Marko Crnjanski
I had a lot of fun reading this interview with Darko Mesaros. He has a fascinating hobby involving restoring old computers and giving them a new job.
Writing CSS In 2023: Is It Any Different Than A Few Years Ago — Geoff Graham
Geoff wrote a great article about how writing CSS changed over the years. He showed some new and exciting features that weren’t available a few years ago.
