What happened last week
I skipped last week's issue because too many things were happening, and I just decided that it was all too much.
But I’m back and full of interesting news.
Two weeks I spoke at WordCamp Gdynia. It was a great experience, and I’m very happy I had so many discussions after my talk. As you can see in the photo below - I even mentioned that WP alternatives might be better for headless.
Apart from this, I’m happy that we finally rolled out the Static Site Hosting at Kinsta. Congrats to the team. I’m really excited about this one. This will enable us to do some really cool things soon :)
Tomorrow, I will be speaking with Jonathan on the WP-Tonic podcast. I’m really excited about this. Join us here.
Oh, and I’m taking Directus for a spin - it’s really cool.

It’s a year already - to summarize, I’m really happy here, and I you can expect the sequel of this post or maybe a trilogy.
Kinsta Static Site Hosting is Fast and Free
We did it - we released the Static Site Hosting. It was really fun working on this project, but more cool stuff to come. So, if you are looking for a place to host your Astro blog - look no further.
That's a lot of YAML — Geoffrey Huntley
I never knew that Norway might be problematic for YAML. YAML never was my favorite format, but I never thought it could be so quirky. Really amazing thing by Geoffrey.
The Problem With WordPress Is Positioning, Not Plugins — Geoff Graham
Geoff wrote an amazing article about wp.com vs wp.org. This has been a huge problem for WP for many years, and I think that with the latest actions, it’s getting even worse. Thanks, Geoff, for this one. I hope more people will understand the problems it’s causing.
The 11 Types Of Toxic Pull Requests (According To 4.5 Million Code Branches)
This great article shows some of the worst types of Pull Requests that can happen. I also like the part on how to solve them - pair programming is one of those. I see it as another example that talking to others can solve all of our problems.
Hacking htmx applications — Gabor Matuz
Htmx is becoming more and more popular. And that's great because it’s a great tool. On the other hand, there are some dangers if you are not careful using it. Gabor did a great job finding out what you should be extra careful about when using htmx.
Point-of-Sale with Shopware and Mollie — Chrisitian Dangl
It’s great to see how you can use Shopware and Mollie. Adding such a Point of Sale at your shop seems simple.
Nuxt Studio is out of beta. Some things have changed, but it’s still the same great experience of creating content. Of course, if you use Nuxt. Still, I hope that at some point, there will be an Astro-compatible version of it.
