What happened last week
Let me start with the good news. I almost have a new job as a DevRel. Waiting for some formal confirmation, but in general, it went smoothly.
That’s not all, together with my wife, we made nice progress with the new version of my blog. Maybe I will be able to launch soon. There are still some minor details to handle, but we’re close.
On the flip side, I still can’t believe that someone would decide to create fake speakers for the conference. You know, to meet the diversity quota. Read more about this here.
Don’t miss today’s The Code and Coffee Show. This time, together with Sergii Kirianov, we’ll chat about Headless Ecommerce.

CMS Agnostic Headless — Maciek Palmowski
I wrote an article about a CMS Agnostic approach with Astro. Thanks to this you can switch your CMSs quickly without having to update the rest of your theme.
DevRel: Why is everyone quitting? — Sergii Kirianov
Sergii summed up all the problems DevRels might have and why many are quitting. I was thinking about writing such an article too, but I think I will just say “what he said”.
It’s also a must-read for everyone who is thinking about the DevRel career.
How Qwik’s Astro Integration Beats Both React and Vanilla JS — Paul Scanlon
Paul shows why in his opinion the new Qwik integration is the best of two worlds when compared with React and Vanilla JS. Of course, making such assumptions on sidebar navigation might be a bit of a stretch, but the truth is, that this is the problem we often face. How to add a bit of interactivity without too much dependencies.
Open standards, trust, and Google — Cassidy Williams
Cassidy explains why Open Standards are so important and I totally agree with her. Google's example is a perfect one. I remember when they killed off their RSS Reader, while some people got used to it, the transition to another app was easy because the RSS standard is open.
PHP 8.3 is finally released and there are some changes.
Re-Inventing the API Client — Anoop M D,
While I haven’t tried it out yet, Bruno seems to be an interesting API Client. This article is really interesting and shows some of the biggest strengths of it.
Testing Nirvana: Trendyol Coupon Team Reveals the Secrets of Playwright’s Magic Wand! — Baris Ekici
Baris explains why they switched to Playwright and what are its biggest benefits.
We pulled off an SEO heist — Jake Ward
Jake shows how they stollen traffic from competition by generating very similar blog posts (thanks to AI). While morally horrible, it shows how big a problem AI-generated content can be. You can spend hours creating amazing content, doing research, etc. And on the other hand, AI can create something similar in a matter of seconds.
