What Happened Last Week - Issue #7
This week: better code, CI/CD at Slack, using Cypress and TestRail, OCR in JS and much more.
What happened last week
Sorry, for being a day late this week, but the COVID booster just destroyed me completely.
This is my last week of resting before starting my new job at Kinsta. I really, can't wait to start.
I finally managed to connect the subdomain to Revue. It wasn't as simple as the documentation stated.
A great article from David Amos about how to write better and cleaner code. Again, it's not a surprise that it's better to write a readable than "magical".
Another amazing episode of The Dev Morning Show. This time with Moriel Schottlender, who is the Principal System Architect at Wikimedia. Wiki is one of my favorite projects on the internet, so I love learning what happens there behind the scenes.
A very interesting article showing what the Slack CI/CD process looks like. I didn't know they were using Jenkins.
I had a chance to do a webinar together with Christian Dangl about testing and about test reporting. The whole part about TestRail is amazing.
Things like this are just mindblowing. An OCR library in JS. WOW. And it really works great.
I wrote a small article showing how to prevent deployments on Friday. It's just a small bash oneliner, but it gets the job done.
