What happened last week
What a week it was. A lot happened. I’m back from Spain (sadly), WordCamp Gliwice happened, I wrote an article about Statamic, I finally got my DevCard from daily.dev (it’s amazing), and the CMS Squad has almost 100 people.
While I couldn’t attend WordCamp Gliwice, I learned that Monika and Kasia made sure that I was there. I was so touched by this and looking at all the conference pictures, I never was on so many of them.
I’m also happy that WordCamp Gliwice was a blast - organizing such events ain’t simple, but the final result always makes it worth it. I couldn’t imagine co-organizing such an event with anyone else. Thanks :)
I’m also working hard on my May plans - I will be speaking at three events (that’s crazy):
at WordUp Gdynia about is WordPress always the best choice
at Kongres.js Meetup in Gdańsk about Astro
at IPC in Berlin, I will try to show that WordPress isn’t that bad

Flatlake — CloudCannon
A great tool that lets you convert your markdown website into an API. Amazing and very useful tool.
Managing User Focus with :focus-visible — Chris DeMars
There are great things about this article - first of all, it’s a very useful article about focus-visible pseudoclass. Also, it’s an article on CSS Tricks, which maybe mean that it will be brought back from the dead.
Statamic 5 is getting closer and closer. One of the most important changes is the focus on performance. Based on initial tests, it’s going to be amazing. You can already give the alpha version a try.
Cleaning up WordPress option clutter — Joost de Valk
Many WP plugins either don’t clean after themselves or use the autoload when not needed. Joost decided to do something about this and create a plugin called AAA Option Optimizer which let’s you identify the problem and do something about this.
How we redesigned the Linear UI — Yann-Edern Gillet
Linear shared their redesigning journey. It’s a great reading material that shows how many aspects you have to take care into account to create a good UI.
Integrate Meilisearch with Statamic — Arlind Musliu
Arlind is doing an amazing job of educating others on how to make Statamic better. This time he explains how to use Meilisearch.
Astro DB: Migrating my analytics data from Vercel Postgres — Thomas Ledoux
Thomas explains how (and why) he migrated his analytics to Astro DB. The cool part was that he already was using Drizzle so the switch was more than simple.
