What happened last week
I feel that I finally rested a bit after WordCamp Europe. Sadly we all got sick after the return :/ Luckily we’re fine now. I also feel that the last week was work-packed. So many things are happening and there are so many great ideas after WCEU. The downside is that… there is a lot of work :D
Also, I’m preparing for my trip to Nurnberg for Developer Week. I will be a speaker there and I will be talking about Astro. Overall - this is a very conference-heavy year for me. And why I’m enjoying it a lot, it’s also a bit tiring. On the other hand, I’m really happy to work at a company that helps public speakers. Patchstack rocks.
Not sure if checked lately, but my CMS Squad on daily.dev is still growing. It’s 900+ members already. Join it for fun CMS-related conversations.

Vladimir vs Hosting Industry – PHP FPM Unix Socket — Vladimir Smitka
Another episode of Vladimir’s adventures. And again - we can see how some companies take security seriously (GridPane and Ploi) and some just pretend to care (Cloudways). You really should the whole series because it’s a true eye-opener.
htmx sucks — Carson Gross
I had a lot of laughs reading this. Especially when you realize who the author is. Arguments like “Code is crap”, “No Typescript” and “Antiquated Technology” are really funny if put everything in place.
The Power of MVC Pattern Explained Simply — Przemek Hernik
Przemek explains what is MVC and why it’s so useful. I love all the real-life examples he used.

Many people don’t like markdown because it can limit you a bit. But here’s where MDX comes in. Adding components to your content changes everything and removes a lot of limitations that MD has.
The Next Challenge for WordPress: Embracing Enterprise — James Giroux
James wrote a very important topic with which I agree. I would even say that WP should learn enterprise deeply before learning JS. Overall I feel that Matt isn’t the biggest fan of enterprise WordPress.
A lot of interesting stuff inside. Astro and Vite are growing quickly. It’s worth checking the whole survey.
Sebastian Bergmann: Story of PHPUnit, PEST PHP, And More — Nuno Maduro
Great conversation between Sebastian and Nuno. I loved the part where Sebastian explains the most important part is to test code and he doesn’t care which tool is used.
Extremely Fast Web Build Tool Written in Rust
So, we have another build tool. It’s fast - that's for sure. But we already saw it with all the other builders. Now let’s wait more and see how the situation will look in a year.
